Terms of Service
Last updated: September 4, 2025
Let's Keep It Simple
We built conv4me to help developers work more efficiently. These terms exist to protect both of us and keep the service running smoothly. We've tried to write them in plain English rather than dense legalese. By using our tools, you're agreeing to play by these reasonable rules.
1. Definitions
- "Service" refers to conv4me and all associated tools, features, and functionalities
- "User" refers to any individual or entity using the Service
- "Content" refers to any data, text, information, or materials submitted to or generated by the Service
- "Tools" refers to the various conversion, generation, and validation utilities provided by the Service
- "Account" refers to the user account created to access premium features
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, browsing, or using conv4me, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These terms apply to all users of the Service, including both registered and unregistered users.
3. What We Do
Our Mission
We provide high-quality developer tools that solve real problems. Our focus is on reliability, speed, and usefulness - not on extracting maximum profit from users. Our tools fall into several categories:
- Converters: Transform data between different formats and encodings
- Generators: Create secure passwords, unique identifiers, and test data
- Validators: Check data integrity and format compliance
- Text Tools: Format, encode, and manipulate text content
Fair Pricing Model
We keep our service sustainable with a simple tiered approach:
- Free Tier: Full tool access with reasonable usage limits
- Paid Tiers: Higher limits, additional features, and enhanced support
Current pricing and tier details are available on our pricing page.
4. User Accounts
Creating an Account
Account creation is straightforward, but we need you to:
- Be at least 16 years old (GDPR requirement)
- Provide accurate information (helps us help you when things go wrong)
- Keep your login details secure (use a password manager!)
- Not create multiple accounts to bypass limits (defeats the purpose of fair usage)
- Understand we may close accounts that violate these terms
4.2 Account Security
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
- We are not liable for any loss or damage from unauthorized account access
5. How to Use Our Tools
What We Built This For
Our tools are designed for legitimate development and productivity work:
- Data format conversion and transformation
- Secure content generation for development
- Data validation and format checking
- Educational and professional development tasks
Don't Be That Person
Please don't:
- Do anything illegal (obviously)
- Try to hack our systems or other users
- Process malicious content through our tools
- Spam our servers with automated requests
- Try to reverse engineer our platform
- Create fake accounts or impersonate others
- Distribute malware or harmful content
- Find creative ways to bypass usage limits
Basically, use common sense and don't ruin it for everyone else.
6. Your Data and Content
Zero Data Retention
Here's our promise: We don't store any data you process through our tools. Whether you're converting formats, generating content, or validating data, we process it and immediately forget it. Your sensitive data never touches our databases.
What We Do Track
For service improvement and fair usage: While we don't store your actual data, we do track usage statistics to improve our tools and enforce tier limits.
- Which tools you use and how often
- Processing time and success/failure status
- Input/output data sizes (not the actual content)
- Basic request metadata (timestamps, IP addresses)
This helps us identify popular tools, fix performance issues, and ensure fair access for all users.
6.2 Content Responsibility
- You retain all rights to your content and data
- You are solely responsible for the content you process through our tools
- You warrant that you have the right to process any data you submit
- We are not responsible for any loss of data or content
7. Usage Limits and Fair Use
7.1 Rate Limits
- Usage limits vary by service tier and are enforced to ensure fair access
- Exceeding rate limits may result in temporary service restrictions
- Limits are subject to change with reasonable notice
7.2 Fair Use
We expect users to use the Service reasonably and in good faith. Excessive usage that impacts service availability for other users may result in account limitations or suspension.
8. Paying for Premium
How Billing Works
We keep billing simple and transparent:
- Premium subscriptions are billed monthly or annually
- We charge upfront (no surprise bills)
- If we need to change prices, we'll give you 30 days notice
- Failed payments will downgrade your account (we'll try to contact you first)
Refund Policy
We generally don't offer refunds for subscription fees (since you get immediate access to tools), but we'll make exceptions for service outages or if required by law. If you're having issues, contact us first - we'd rather fix the problem than lose a user.
9. Service Availability
9.1 Uptime
- We strive to maintain 99.9% service availability
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible
- We are not liable for service interruptions beyond our control
9.2 Service Changes
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes affecting paid users.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Our Rights
- The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by us
- Our trademarks, logos, and service marks are protected intellectual property
- You may not use our intellectual property without explicit permission
10.2 Your Rights
You retain all rights to any content or data you process through the Service. We claim no ownership over your content or the results generated by processing your data.
11. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
12. The Legal Reality Check
What We Can and Can't Promise
Here's the deal: We work hard to make our tools reliable, but we can't guarantee perfection.
- Our tools are accurate for normal use, but always double-check critical results
- We're constantly improving, but bugs happen (report them and we'll fix them)
- Use our tools as part of your workflow, not as the final authority
- We provide the service "as is" - that's standard legal language, not us being lazy
12.2 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
13. Taking Responsibility
If you use our tools to do something that gets you (or us) in trouble, that's on you. We're providing the tools, not telling you how to use them. If someone sues us because of how you used our service, you'll need to handle that situation.
14. Termination
14.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by:
- Deleting your account through the user interface
- Contacting our support team
- Ceasing to use the Service
14.2 Termination by Us
We may terminate or suspend your account if you:
- Violate these Terms of Service
- Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
- Fail to pay subscription fees
- Violate applicable laws or regulations
14.3 Effect of Termination
- Your right to use the Service will cease immediately
- We will delete your account data within 30 days
- Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be interpreted and governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in [Jurisdiction].
16. When We Update These Terms
Sometimes we need to update these terms (new features, legal requirements, etc.). When we do, we'll let you know through:
- Email notification for significant changes
- Banner notification on the site
- Updated "last modified" date at the top
We won't make sneaky changes that fundamentally alter our relationship without proper notice.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you andconv4me regarding the use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
19. Questions? Just Ask
We're Real People
Legal questions: legal@conv4.me
Everything else: support@conv4.me
These terms might seem formal, but we're approachable humans who want to build something useful. If anything is unclear, just ask.
Thanks for Reading This
Most people skip terms of service (we get it), but if you made it this far, thanks. We're building conv4me to solve real problems for developers, not to maximize shareholder value. These terms help us keep the service running fairly for everyone.
